ABOUT ME

I’M MEGAN

I'm an executive coach for climate pioneers.

I work with climate executives and founders to help them lead with impact through career-defining transitions, and with leadership teams in climate organisations navigating pivotal growth.

My clients all have a shared mission: to help tackle the worsening climate and nature crisis through their work.

Beyond that, my work is sector-agnostic. I've worked with:

  • Chief execs of climate non-profits, balancing big-picture strategy with the day-to-day

  • VPs of climate tech startups, building a team through the teething pains of scaling

  • Co-founders of climate tech startups, navigating conflict while under pressure

  • Senior leaders in sustainability, working to accelerate a net zero strategy across their organisation

  • Executive directors of non-profits, leading with less reactivity and more strategy

My clients span climate tech startups, university spinouts, economic think tanks, major universities, and non-profits across industries – including clean tech, education, manufacturing, engineering, communications, policy, consulting, finance, data science, food processing, and philanthropic foundations.

As I work mostly remotely, my clients are all around the world – most often in North America, Europe, and the UK.

SO WHAT
BROUGHT ME HERE?

How far back do we go?

I’ve loved nature for as long as I can remember – from afternoons on my bike exploring the woods nearby, to hours curled up on my great uncle’s armchair, engrossed in David Attenborough videos. As I grew up, I became aware that the planet was in trouble, but I assumed the adults would be taking care of it.

Over time, I felt the pull to do something purposeful with my career, but wasn’t quite sure what that could be. But a few decades and countries later, I ended up in Vancouver, working for a non-profit that supported female entrepreneurs across Canada.

That took me to accept a job as first full-time hire for a purpose-led consultancy, which I helped scale 4X. I became second-in-command: leading operations, supporting HR, finance, and sales, and managing relationships with our biggest clients.

Scaling helped me see the difference that strong leadership can make to an organisation’s culture, and also to its wider mission. I wanted to help other leaders work more effectively, so they could scale impact more quickly.

That experience set me on the path to becoming a coach. I took my first coaching course in 2015, and officially trained in 2017.

In 2017, I trained as a coach in the UK, specialising immediately in purpose-led leadership.

I soon started working with emerging climate innovators at Europe's largest climate innovation summer school, run by Climate-KIC. My startup background translated well to this context: helping leaders turn ideas into climate solutions. I saw how my skills could fast-track climate impact, and began to join the dots.

In 2018 I became a founding member of Climate Change Coaches: the world's first climate coaching organisation. We formed to put coaching in the hands of leaders everywhere, to accelerate the green transition. There I trained 40+ coaches to coach around climate change, and delivered multiple team coaching and training programmes to clients including NatWest, AXA XL, Natural England, Royal London, and C40 Cities.

I’ve since co-designed and -delivered multiple climate innovation and leadership programmes, including for Good Ideas, Scotland’s social innovation incubator; and for the University of Edinburgh and King’s College London. I’ve advised founders at Work on Climate, and spoken at events including VERGE, NYC Climate Week, and London Climate Action Week.

I’m driven by love — for our natural world, for my young kids, and for the leaders rising to meet the climate challenge. I want my boys to get to experience the same wonder at nature that I did as a child, and to grow up knowing that many, many people are working to protect and heal the planet.

I believe that well-supported climate leaders are one of the most powerful levers for a more sustainable future.
