HOW TRACI TRANSFORMED UNCERTAINTY INTO A CLEAR STRATEGIC PLAN AND ROADMAP TO SCALE TWO BUSINESSES

Traci is transforming the next generation of women leaders. As co-founder of a social enterprise that empowers young women as sustainability changemakers, she's already impacting lives through transformational workshops and events. But when she came to me, she was at a crossroads: how could she scale her social enterprise while building a thriving coaching practice, all without sacrificing the work-life balance that keeps her energised and effective?

What was going on in your business & life when you began to work with Megan?

I was running a social enterprise focused on inspiring, empowering, and upskilling young women as sustainability leaders and changemakers. While I felt most alive when delivering transformational workshops and events directly to women, I felt completely submerged in the day-to-day administration, spreading myself too thin. It had been like this for years, and something had to give. I knew I couldn’t go on this way.

I had big dreams for where I wanted to be in three years. I wanted my social enterprise to be a successful, sustainable organisation with a dynamic team running a global changemaker mentoring programme. I wanted my coaching practice to be successful, flexible and well-paid. And I wanted a lifestyle where I could earn an income while travelling more and working remotely. However, I faced several significant barriers: limited access to capital, a lack of funding and paid staff, and the financial recession, which was affecting corporate sponsorship and grant funding.

The biggest challenge was that I knew I needed to seriously focus on marketing my coaching business and get in front of more decision makers, but I kept avoiding these bold moves. I was worried about whether I'd ever have the opportunity to achieve my biggest goals, and I found myself being pulled away from what mattered most because I had to earn a living doing other things.

I wanted a clear, well-thought-through, realistic plan to scale my consultancy while making strategic decisions about the future of the social enterprise, without burning out.

What hesitation or concerns did you have about working with Megan?

I knew that working with Megan would be incredibly valuable for me at this stage of both my personal and business development. Her expertise and approach aligned with what I needed to grow and gain clarity. However, I initially hesitated due to financial concerns - I wasn’t sure I could justify the expense when cash flow was already tight. Like many small business owners, I have to weigh every investment carefully. But at the same time, I recognised that I couldn’t move forward without the right support. In the end, we were able to agree on a way of working together that was manageable for me financially, and I’m so glad I made that commitment. It’s already had a positive impact on my confidence and momentum.

What specific results have you achieved?

The VIP Day gave me incredible clarity and practical tools that I didn't have before. I created a comprehensive 3-year vision that felt achievable rather than overwhelming - it was amazing to see all my "bits and pieces of idle daydreaming" come together into one cohesive blueprint. I developed a detailed roadmap showing exactly how to get from where I am now to where I want to be in 2028, broken down into specific themes for each year.

I gained massive clarity around my business model - I had this huge "aha moment" that coaching and consultancy don't need to be separate competing priorities. They actually work beautifully together. I also resolved my confusion about different audiences by recognising that women's empowerment and sustainability are my crystal-clear filter for all decisions.

I created practical decision-making tools, including a personalised "yes/no cheat sheet" with five specific criteria for evaluating opportunities, and a 6-month action plan with concrete milestones. I also established new boundaries, such as working on my social enterprise only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and set up systems for hiring a virtual assistant and conducting weekly finance reviews.

Most importantly, I experienced a profound shift around resources and abundance. Through a particularly helpful somatic exercise, I moved from fear and scarcity thinking to recognising that these recent years have also been some of the richest, most abundant times of my life.

What did you like most about working with Megan?

Megan is very intuitive and empathetic, while also being a skilled coach with proven tools that help to map, guide and record the process. Working with her for a whole day allowed for an in-depth look at my business and the blocks that were holding me back, as well as useful ideas and solutions for moving forward. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and found the outcomes to be inspiring and practical.

What was the biggest thing that you took away from working with Megan?

I found the whole process extremely useful. Megan’s coaching helped me transform my uncertainty into a strategic opportunity. Her insights gave me practical tools to develop my business and a renewed sense of purpose during a challenging period.

Megan helped me transform my scattered entrepreneurial energy into a clear, inspiring roadmap. In just one day, we mapped out not only my business strategy but also my entire vision for personal and professional success. I went from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered and excited about my future.

The biggest takeaway was a particular exercise that completely shifted my relationship with money and success. It was quite emotionally moving and gave me a whole new perspective, making me feel much calmer and more focused.

Instead of being in a hustle mentality all the time, I stepped back and took this much more holistic view. I realised I was judging myself and my worth through purely material parameters, when actually there's so much to celebrate and be proud of. I'm living in a beautiful environment, I have an amazing relationship, I'm doing work I love with people I care about, and I've achieved things like writing a book and creating the freedom to travel for months while still working.

This helped me to completely realign with my purpose and gain crystal-clear clarity about my core mission of empowering women as sustainability leaders.

It gave me permission to trust the process more and stop being so stressed about things that are largely outside my control, while still taking focused action on what I can influence. That shift from scarcity to abundance thinking was absolutely transformational.

What do you think would have happened if you hadn’t worked with Megan?

Based on where I was before our VIP Day, I think I would have continued the same patterns that were holding me back. I would have continued avoiding the bold moves I knew I needed to make, such as seriously focusing on marketing my coaching business and getting in front of decision-makers to fundraise for my social enterprise. I was already worried about spending time on the wrong things, such as consultancy contracts that earned money but didn't further my purpose, or getting distracted by social media and issues unrelated to my core goals.

Without a clear strategic plan, I probably would have looked up in three years and realised I'd spent my valuable time on urgent but ultimately inconsequential things, rather than building the financial freedom and sustainable social enterprise I truly wanted. I would have remained stuck in the cycle of being pulled away from what mattered most just to earn a living.

Who would you recommend to work with Megan?

I recommend that any other entrepreneur, consultant, coach, or purpose-led changemaker to work with Megan. She understands the challenges and demands of working in climate action and social justice and has the empathy and tools to help you navigate them successfully.
